New 2025 BMW's Electric X5 Unveiled: The Future of BMW

The evolution of BMW has seen significant changes in its design language over the years. Despite the modernizations, the iconic kidney grilles have remained a staple, though recent designs have sparked mixed reactions due to their increasingly dominant presence on the car's front. However, BMW's latest design direction, embodied in the Neue Klasse, is set to redefine this signature feature, especially in the brand's fully electric lineup. The next model to showcase this new aesthetic is the electric X5, also known as the iX5, which has recently been spotted by our spy photographers, heavily camouflaged, undergoing testing on public roads.

BMW's new electric vehicle (EV) styling takes a futuristic approach, refining the kidney grilles to be narrower and more upright. The iX3, the first of the Neue Klasse vehicles, is positioned as the electric counterpart to the X3 and is slated to enter production in July 2025. Following closely is the iX5, which, at a quick glance, resembles the iX3 prototypes. However, upon closer inspection, the iX5 is notably larger in both width and length.

Despite the camouflage concealing much of the bodywork, attentive observers can spot some distinct features. The door handles, for instance, resemble those seen on certain Audi Q7 prototypes, positioned near the windows rather than lower on the doors.

Moreover, the prototypes hint at two different powertrains. Keen eyes will notice larger red brake calipers on one of the vehicles, suggesting a more powerful variant. Additionally, tire sizes differ between the prototypes, with the more basic model sporting 275/40-22 tires in the front and 315/35-22 tires in the rear.

For those who love keeping their vehicles in pristine condition, we recommend the Chemical Guys HOL169 16-Piece Arsenal Builder CarWash Kit. This kit features a foam cannon, bucket, and six 16 oz car care cleaning chemicals. Ideal for car and truck enthusiasts, dads, and DIYers, it works seamlessly with pressure washers for an exceptional clean.

The X5 is anticipated to be available in both gasoline and electric versions, implying that more camouflaged prototypes will be seen on the roads. Currently, BMW is focusing on Neue Klasse SUVs, which account for a significant portion of the brand's global sales. However, sedans are expected to join the lineup eventually, and we'll be ready to provide updates as soon as we catch sight of these prototypes.
